Friends are those rare people who ask how you are and then wait to hear the answer

I briefly mentioned my friends in some of my earlier posts but I don’t think I mentioned them enough so I decided to dedicate a whole post to the wonderful people who I’m lucky to call my friends.
My friends are and always have been very important to me. I cherish my friendships and I have always made sure that I put a lot of time and effort into maintaining those friendships. Having a baby has meant I have less time to see my friends and even less time to text them. I constantly find myself replying to a message and then getting distracted by the cats or Little A and I forget what I was doing before that. My texts are definitely shorter and more sporadic and I do apologise for that but the people who know me well enough will know that it’s definitely not personal.
I have friendships which span as far back as 2006 when I started working at Gatwick Airport; my gossip and spritzer buddy. I have friends from my flying days; two in particular I met when we ended up on the same training course and only a few months ago became Little A’s Godparents. I have friends from my most recent job in Pensions; friends who drop by with homemade cookies and send flowers or leave wine on your doorstep. I also have friends I’ve met in all sorts of random places who check in on me regularly; they send messages to let me know that they’re there.
Thank you all.
I will never forget the people who have supported me through what has been the most difficult and challenging chapter in my life and let me know that I wasn’t alone.
